Weaving Sustainability and Empowerment

BOF marked a significant milestone on July 28, 2025, as it formally sealed a partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office III through a contract signing for the Sisidlan Upcycling Project. Held at the BOF Corporate Center, the event underscored the bank’s commitment to inclusive growth and environmental stewardship, as it became the first organization to collaborate with the DSWD on such a unique project.

The event gathered key figures from both institutions. Representing DSWD were Assistant Regional Director Armont C. Pecina, Division Chief for Promotive Services Susan Hernandez, and DSWD officers. BOF’s leadership was also in full support, led by President and CEO Paolo David Carlos, Senior Executive Vice President Jaime P. Panganiban, Executive Vice President Rona Q. Binuya, and Vice President of the Corporate Affairs Group Zabrina David Nunga. Their presence symbolized the shared vision and dedication behind the initiative.

BOF formally handed over its retired uniforms to the DSWD SLP partners, marking the official start of the upcycling process. These materials will serve as the foundation for the creation of BOF “Sisidlan” Carryall.

The Sisidlan Upcycling Project seeks to empower DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program partners by repurposing BOF uniforms into reusable tote bags. Beyond livelihood support, the initiative embodies the bank’s mission of nurturing lives, cultivating growth, and driving progress. Through this, BOF continues to reinforce its role as a vessel of positive change; elevating communities, championing sustainability, and creating opportunities that endure the test of time.
