Capas Gears Up for Digitalization with Paleng-QR Ph Plus

On April 22, BOF attended the launch of the PalengQR Ph Plus at the Event Center in Capas, Tarlac. Spearheaded by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and organized by the Local Government of Capas, the program brings cashless payments closer to everyday commerce, empowering tricycle drivers and market vendors to accept QR-based transactions with ease and security. 

 Local leadership underscored the event’s importance, with Governor Christian Yap, Mayor Roseller B. Rodriguez, Vice Mayor Alex C. Espinosa, and members of the Sangguniang Bayan in attendance. Representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of the Interior and Local Government, along with partner banks and organizations, also lent their support. 

More than a rollout, the launch signals a shift in how grassroots economies operate, where convenience, efficiency, and financial inclusion converge to benefit both vendors and customers alike.
